These Are The Days
Amigos, Comrades, Sidekicks, Bromances ...
(Photo to the right: it rained most of our roadtrip, once entering New Mexico. In between rain fall, beautiful endless rainbows appeared in the skies. I love the view and composition of this one over this rundown home, almost as if to give the space & land hope for being renewed)
This past August, Ryan & I ventured to Colorado for a weekend getaway/surprise Bachelor Party for our amazing friend Tyler! His kick-ass, now wife, Danielle invited us as well as Grant, Delaney (who sadly couldn't make it), Kyle (who also coudn't make it) & Dylan to share in the week rumpus in celebration of their soon-to-be-marriage extravaganza. It was such a wonderful time seeing everyone again & being together to laugh or be ridiculous with one another. These people are the most important people to Ryan & I in the sens of them being there from day one of our relationship & being such an incredibly significant part of our college days. These friends are very much family in every aspect of the word: being brutally honest, doing, thinking & saying absurd or stupid things & being okay with it all the time (unless it is just REALLY stupid), drinking (which is the foundation of friendship, right?) & overall never hiding emotion or personality from one another. I trust these individuals for the rest of my life. Now that I am done being mooshy, let's see some photographs!
This is how we began our time together (of course after grabbing food & liquior run). It is all about Cards Against Humanity! If you don't have this game or have no idea what it is, please crawl out from under your rock & invest because you will NOT regret it! With cards at hand & at the ready, the delightful liquior stylings of Dylan began to out pour into our ARC mugs. Coors Banquet was cherished by all, eventually Sprouts pizzas were warmed & devoured & so marked the beginning of a wonderful weekend.
A photograph of the delightful & ever so captivating couple, Tyler & Danielle. They were the best host & hostess for the weekend allowing all of us to camp out on the living room floor and make a terrible mess of their fancy little apartment. Look at the excitement in Danielle's face as Tyler serenades her. Can't you tell she is simply swept off her feet by his romantic & charmin gesture? I know, I definitely can! They are the greatest people to photograph because their cuteness comes naturally & they have the adorable factor going for them, all day everyday.
Love this photograph of all of them because of their smiles & their eyes glued to the computer screen. I forget what they were watching. Honestly, perhaps dogs pooping on kids, a dancing cat, or knowing Dylan, a video that is ultimate frisbee related ... what is a good getaway weekend without some YouTube video watching. Even though every one of us were exhausted from our travels from the day, we still continued to celebrate the time that we had with one another.
The next morning, we all awoke starving & craving some good eats. We ventured off to a small little eatery that met the hungry needs of our growling tummies. I really enjoyed the fence on the wal, which influenced my snapshots of Grant & Tyler. The wonderful natural lighting shining in from the tall windows that covered the front of the cafe, they served us our water in classic glass jugs (seen in the photo of Tyler) & the food was quite satisfactory for everyone (again, seen in the photo of Tyler as he chows down). Continuing our day ... the boys decided to purchase an XBOX360 for Tyler & Danielle so that they could have a night long video game frenzy, of course, after they battled it out in a paintball war.
Once it was decided that paintballing was the BIG EVENT for the day, we made the necessary ARC trip to find the proper attire for the boys. One thing led to another, ghostbuster jumpsuits were foind, mathcing hats & the compeition, not only in paintball, but in finding the best team uniform began. Tyler & Dylan are sporting matching jumpsuits, black combat boots & colorful scarf headwear. Grant & Ryan decided to go with matching long sleeve blue button ups, cut-off corduroy shorts, penny loafers, matching beige socks, brown belts, and to top it off red trucker caps. Needless to day, Tyler & Dylan's attire covered them a little bit better than Team short shorts. Everyone came home with bruises & battle stories to share.
On the road home, Ryan & I stopped at a small gas station in a podunk town. This rundown fence, weaving & waving through the grass & overgrown weeds caught my eye. Nothing "artistically" special or significant about the scene other than being beautiful & meaningful in its own way. It seems so peaceful and quite (which it very much was throughout the small town). Roadtrips always deliver some wonderful views, fun jam session to music you haven't listened to in a while, fast food burgers, gas station rest stops, souvenir shops, neon signs, unpredictable weather & endless fun! I can't wait for our next roadtrip!
